Mastering Tunisian Crochet – Make a Ripple Scarf

Now that you mastered the basics, you want to explore all the exciting techniques that Tunisian Crochet can offer you!

Come and learn how to do the Ripple in Tunisian Crochet with a few different variations, tips and tricks and make scarf or adjust the pattern for a wrap or blanket.  The pattern is written for a scarf with dimensions of approximately: Length from longest points = 230cm and Width = 38cm, which requires 400g of yarn.  During the workshop, you will receive a kit with 200g of yarn to make the skinny version of this scarf with dimensions of approximately: Length from longest points = 126cm and Width = 22cm.

What will you learn:  How to do the Ripple technique in Tunisian Simple Stitch and a few different stitch variations, with some tips around this technique in Tunisian Crochet.

What you need: You will be supplied with a kit that contains the following: 200g 100% merino sock yarn to make the skinny scarf version (you can choose your colours on the day of the workshop form a variety colours in Btrix Yarns), 6mm interchangeable crochet hook with 40cm cable, pattern for the Ripple Scarf.

Bring: 5 stitch markers, pencil for notes.

Basic crochet knowledge: You will need to know the basics of Tunisian Crochet eg. the Tunisian Simple Stitch, How to work the Foundation Row and end the Forward pass correctly in the last stitch.  It will be a bonus if you understand how the different basic Tunisian Stitches are formed eg, Tunisian Full Stitch, Tunisian Purl Stitch, Tunisian Reverse Stitch and Tunisian Top Bar Stitch.
