Suggested Yarn:

  • Vinnis Colour Nikkim in 3 different colours.

About 7g of each colours if you want to make all 3 shapes or 4g of each colour per shape.

I used the following colours:

  • Raspberry
  • Lime
  • Lavender


Yarn Weight:

  • DK/Double Knit/8-ply/Light Worsted/12-14wpi


Suggested Hook Size:

  • Hook size: 3.5mm/E-4 (US)


Sizes available in approximate dimensions:

  • Heart: Measured between longest points = 11cm
  • Star: Measured between longest points = 11cm
  • Triangle: Measured from one corner perpendicular to opposite side = 11cm

  • Half Double Crochet (Hdc)
  • Double Crochet (Dc)  
  • Treble (Tr)  
  • Long Single Crochet (Long-sc) 
  • Long Double Crochet (Long-dc)  
  • Long Treble (Long-tr) 


Pattern Notes

  • This pattern in written in American English terminology.
  • Ch-3 at beginning of rounds count as 1 dc.
  • Instructions in *stars* are repeated the number of times indicated after the second *, but ** indicates that the last repeat of a round will stop before the **.
  • The amount of petals of the African Flower will be 5xpetals for Heart, 5xpetals for Star & 6xpetals for Triangle.
  • The pattern indicates at some rows that you sl st to specific ch-spaces. This is done as you work continuously in one colour.  When you change colour, you can start immediately with standing chain(s) into indicated ch-space.
